Hi, all! I’m Nina. I’m 18. I started reading Twilight before its heyday. Back when Stephenie Meyer was small enough to visit the little dot on the map that is my town and when I didn’t have to buy a ridiculously expensive ticket.
Now, I’m taking some summer classes to catch up with credits before I’m officially off to community college. I’m somewhere between slacker and OCD, though they’re polar opposites. I don’t really have a goal in life, but I’m sure working hard to get there.
The Beginning:

--
There are three things that define this journal:
- Edward Cullen does not exist.
- The perfect guy cannot exist.
- So, who the hell does Chase Stanton think he is when he says he can BE Edward Cullen?!
Call it a virtual reality novel, though I’m sure it’s been done before with fan-fictions and role-play, etc. Herein lies the fictional blog of Caroline (Nina) Thomas, 18, and her little quest to defy gravity. Convinced that Edward Cullen and the idea of him is the most repulsive thing a girl can let her mind be consumed by, she struggles to maintain Twi-fandom and still “hate” Edward.
Join Nina and her BFF Donna as they explore love, life and Twilight.
--
How this is going to play out:
First, add Nina as a friend to get the updates. It's her blog, so feel free to comment and ask questions about her day. What she blogs may not actually be what happend. You can pester her about her opinions and thoughts as much as you want.
Nina will post a blog every so often as the story progresses. Blogs may be long and short, depending on her mood. Once in a while, under a cut that Nina doesn’t know exists, I will tell you what really happened that day in Nina’s life, whether it be told from her point of view or not. Hopefully, it will be clear on what is blog and what is novel. (I have this horrible tendency to begin in third person, then zoom into first person narrative and then zoom out again all of a sudden.)
With that, the disclaimer:
The stories and characters within are fictional. Coincidental as places and characters may be, the plot is entirely not reality. Also, Stephenie Meyer is a brilliant author and I do love her works. I just thought that I could write a story on the lives of people around her books.
Just to make it perfectly clear: Nina, Donna, and Chase don’t actually exist. This journal is not real. It’s a story not quite fan-fiction, but not quite its own thing, either. It’s a bit of an experiment.

ZOMG! The Apocalypse is here!!
The End of
The Twilight Saga!
You find yourself sitting at home, loath to reread the saga for the umpteenth time, even though it is fantastic enough to reread forever. Then you think, “Hey, there’s got to be a ton of other books to read.” You and mom hop in the car and head to Borders, leap to the YA section and see the shrine to Twilight, but all you see is Twilight. Where to start with the other books? Well, my friends and I are here to help you.
We discovered this dilemma earlier, and between Twilight and now, we’ve read and reread all of these fantastic books by many different and magnificent authors. So, if you’re puzzling on what to do with your time after Edward Cullen, here’s how you can fill your time in Algebra for the next six months.
Put your big girl panties on, these books are not that scary. In fact, the Stephenie herself has read some of them.
Jane Eyre
Wuthering Heights
Pride and Prejudice*
Tess of D’urberville
The Scarlet Letter
Poetry
-Romeo and Juliet
-The Tempest
-Emily Dickinson
-“She and He” by Sir Edwin Arnold*
Young Adult Neighbors
Meg Cabot’s Mediator series*
Marianne Curley’s Guardians of Time
Libba Bray’s*
- A Great and Terrible Beauty
- Rebel Angels
- The Sweet Far Thing
Holly Black’s
- Tithe*
- Ironside
- Valiant
Melissa Marr
- Wicked Lovely*
- Ink Exchange
Annette Curtis Klause*
- Blood and Chocolate (for Jake fans)
- Silver Kiss (for Ed fans)
Tamora Pierce
Garth Nix
Donna Jo Napoli
Sarah Dessen
Penelope - Marilyn Kaye
Avalon High – Meg Cabot*
Old Magic – Marianne Curley*
Beauty – Robin McKinley
A Certain Slant of Light – Laura Whitcomb*
The Enchantress from the Stars – Sylvia Enghdal
Keturah and Lord Death – Martine Leavitt*
Read Stephenie’s The Host*. If you end up liking that one, despite its lack of Edward and non-relation to Twilight, look up:
Lois Lowry’s The Giver trilogy
Aldous Huxley
Margaret Atwood
Ray Bradbury
George Orwell
William Nicholson
If you have not done so already, read JKRowling’s Harry Potter, and do it now. Then read:
Alison Croggon’s Books of Pellinor series
Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Sequence
CS Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia
Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials
Mercedes Lackey’s Elemental Masters series
For kicks and giggles, read Neil Gaiman’s Stardust* and William Golding’s The Princess Bride*.
Happy reading to you!
