Well, this is new...

  • Apr. 15th, 2009 at 3:40 PM

I've been sitting here for fifteen minutes, just working and LJing. Chase seems a little antsy today. Wonder why...

You know you want what's under that barista apron, Donna's voice replayed in her head for the millionth time as Chase clamored about behind the counter.Honestly, yes, but...

But what? So life was busy. Hell, Nina hadn't even updated her livejournal in months. Her poor friends were suffering in suspense at what little entertainment her life could offer.

Why not give them something to chew on?

Possible reasons Chase is antsy... she typed.

1. He has an incurable wedgie. *giggle*

2. Stacie left dirty coffee filters again.

She was interupted by Chase collapsing into the chair in front of her, hands over his face, giving off an air of slight agitation.

"Can I help you?" Nina asked, wide-eyed as she peered over the rim of her laptop betweent hem.

"Yes!" he said, leaning toward her. "What are we?"

"Humans? Or dancers?" she said.

"Nina!"

"Chase..."

"Five dates. Not counting the 57 million lunches and breaks I spend with you."

"Those were dates?"

"What else were they?"

"Two people... hanging out?" she suggested nervously.

"Donna told me."

"Told you what?"

"That you... like me."

"Oh, that. Really?" She was taunting him and he knew it.

Here was when he began banging his head on the table repeatedly. She laughed out loud.

"The term 'boyfriend' never quite suited Edward, either," she sighed. Though, she felt a sudden wave of nerves and nausea hit her. What am I saying? From whence does this confidence stem?

He stopped banging his head, but he pounded his fist once. It was quite comical to see. She eased her laptop to the side, so that it was no longer between them. She pulled herself closer to him, across the small table. Close to his ear, she whispered, "Chase, if that's what you want?"

He lifted his face from the table, and she had to adjust herself so they wouldn't smack foreheads. There was an amusingly bright red spot on his forehead, and a look of relief on his face. Nina smiled.

Chase slowly lifted a hand to her face, closed his eyes and kissed her.

creepy stalker-songs

  • Jan. 31st, 2009 at 12:58 PM
wrong
So, I was thinking over my tea this morning, Edward is a creepy stalker. Mostly this was triggered by the music in the 'Bean at the time. Clay Aiken's
"Invisible" (I know, right?!) oozed eerily from the hidden sound system, and I looked over at dear Eddie and made a face of pain.

"Crrrreeeepy!" he said to me as he waved the canister of whipped cream in the air.

"But it's so Edward!" I giggled.

So, we tried to dream up some other creepy songs. And then the rush cam in. So I am left alone with you, oh my journal friends, to decide if these songs and others are creepy-stalker-Edward-ish. :-D

"Invisible" by Clay Aiken - Definately. He wants to watch her in her room. But, then again, Clay's gay now, so he's watching a boy in his room. Hahahaha. Still feel safe?

"Standin' on the Corner" by Dean Martin - One of those oldie-but-goodie-but-OMG-that's-so-no-longer-socially-acceptable. Yeah. He says, "Buddy, you can't go to jail for what you're thinking, or for the rude look in your eye, Just standing on the corner, watching all the girls go by." Not very Edward, but still, there's that creepy-vibe.

"Bloody Valentine" by Good Charlotte - "He dropped you off, I followed him home/Then I, I stood outside his bedroom window/Standing over him, he begged me not to do/What I knew I had to do cause I'm so in love with you." If you pissed either Edward or Jacob off enough, this could happen to you.

"Delilah" by Tom Jones - Holy Crap! This song is the scariest thing evar! I heard it at a karaoke night. It made me nearly poop my pants. "I cross the street to her house and she opened the door/She stood there laughing/I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more/My, my, my delilah." I doubt Edward would do such a thing... but you never know. Anyway, creeepy song.

Anyone else got any more?

not gonna write you a love song

So, if I’m Bella and he is Edward… this was bound to happen? This was a joke, right? Crap, I hate questioning myself. And why am I here again, drinking over-priced coffee, listening to crappy music, passing the time before he hits his break?

Damn.

Ooooh, look, Donna’s online! Yay for facebook poppity-things! )

No, absolutely, definately NOT.

Happy Birthday, Me!!!

  • Jan. 12th, 2009 at 8:57 PM

Today was fun. Donna actually did wake up in time to have breakfast with me and Mom. Donna and I were thinking of going to another breakfast place in town, but Mom insisted on going to the Best Bean. And, "Momma-Votes count as three, so you're out numbered!" Damn, that's probably why Obama won! Hahaha.

Guess who was working the morning shift, though? Yep, Eddie-dearest. But it wasn't so bad, actually. Several of the emps (employees) at the 'Bean actually came in to wish me a happy birthday. Perks of being a regular, I guess. Chase stuck a candle in my muffin, pulled out a lighter and I had a little song and dance. He commented, "Well, can't use it for its original purpose, new year's resolution and all." Good for him.

I haven't seen Mom caffeinated in a loong time. Granted, she hasn't been allowed much because of surgerys, treatments, etc. My best birthday/Christmas/New Year's gift was her clean bill of health.

Okay, I'll admit it! I had been kind of nervous around Chase lately. The night we went to see Twilight went a bit sour, I can say that. I know he got over it quickly. I finally saw him a week-ish later...

The eternal breakfast dilemma: Sweet or savory?

Savory. Yum. And tea. Yes, I'm an addict.

Tomorrow is my birthday! Oh, joy... nothing exciting happens at nineteen. Or, nothing that anyone really cares about.

However, I am treaing myself to a spiffy Best Bean breakfast. Lol. As if that's surprising.

Hopefully, I can rouse Donna, so I don't have to spend it alone. Then there's class. Mom'll probably want to go out. I'll take her out, too. :)

New Year's Resolution

Twilight hype of doooooooooom! It's really unbearable right now. Advertisements all over myspace, facebook, AND livejournal. How annoying.

This hype is a real turn off, but... I like Twilight, I do. Even if I do think Edward's rather a pain in the ass.

So: New Year's Resolution is to fall in love with Twilight again, apart from fandom. Just to reread the book, because it's been a while.

And read other stuff, too, written before 1950. Jane Eyre. That sounds like a good plan.

Happy New Year, all!

Sometimes, I really hate it when things get annoyingly personal.

Ugh, it was bad, then good, then… blergh.

After dropping mom off, I shouldn’t have gone to the ‘Bean at all. I did. I tried to do some work. Then Chase offered to take me to see Twilight. I promised to wait to see it with Mom…

It was fun.

And then it wasn’t.

Goodnight.

Mom's been in and out and everywhere with me tagging along. It's kind of frustrating. She insists that she drive her self to some appointments, but doctors are worried about the amount of meds she's taking so they make me drive.

Real school is starting soon. Whoot. But I still need to get my schedule...

And... Chase is back! Still making great coffee. He looks terrible, though. A couple times he's looked like night of the living dead. He might really be a vampire... or maybe a werewolf, considering he's gone for long chunks of time...

As long as I get coffee, I'm goood.

Life hit me, really hard. I've been busy. I've only gone to the 'Bean twice!! Both of which times I was with my mother AND Chase was not making my coffee. And coffee has been terrible. Mom is terribly disappointed that Chase hasn't been there. She wants to rate his sexiness...

Wow, this is ridiculous.

Anyway, after Breaking Dawn, I've been an extremely happy person. Donna convinced me to love Edward again and to entertain this... crush? on Chase. Not really a crush, though. I dunno, whatever. But it doesn't help if he's not around, now does it? Whoa... mixed up grammar, much?

Anyhoo, Mom is doing fantastic, as evidenced by the running around and getting coffee multiple times... Actually, one of the coffee stops was on the way to an out of town afternoon appointement. We decided to start early and make an adventure of it. We got lost so many times! Mom has this thing with being too easily distracted, and I have no choice but to indulge her.

Breaking Dawn = Beautiful

  • Aug. 6th, 2008 at 10:41 PM

Why you can’t find an Edward Cullen #73: No seventeen year old boy can possess that amount of “maturity.” He’s suave, he’s graceful and courteous. Most boys burp and brag and smell like Cheetos. It’s a sad truth. Once in a while, there’s a diamond in the rough, I’ll admit. But finding someone flawless is well, impossible.

I finished Breaking Dawn, and I thought it was fantastic. Being on Team Switz paid off -- I was not totally disappointed. In fact, fo the most part I was completely pleased. Like, 99.98% happy with the whole thing. The 0.02% is the scene I felt cheated of, and the one loophole, albeit an entertaining one, that Steph tried to fill on her own lore.

My mom may be right, I could actually love this Edward character, but that's the thing. He's a character. He doesn't exist. I should be prepared for disappointment.

I need to get out the house. I need to have coffee that I didn't make. Going to the 'Bean in the morning. Blergh!!!

*dies*

Really?

----

I'm putting all my Breaking Dawn shizz in one post so as not to spam and spoil.

Someone posted in [info]twilight_addict asking why the fans liked the books. I ranted a bit... and liked it and wanted to add one more thing. Italics are rantings in the original repsonse I sent.

There's so much that Stephenie weaves into the story, and the strongest threads are those that form the characters. What makes them who they are, what makes them love who they love, they have strong personalities. Once in a while, sure, some go flat, but when observed closely, each one is remarkabley unique and relatable.

Not only are the characters easy to relate to, some of the situations, though fantastic, in the break down, are things that readers deal with or have dealt with or need to at least experience mentally in order to deal with later. That's why teens and their mothers love them.

What keeps me loyal to Stephenie even thought I strongly disliked The two middle books, New Moon and Eclipse, is her writing style. It's simple and strong, sarcastic and clever. She throws in things we should catch, and then buries things that we need to find when we think on it. (Personally, though, I love her humor more than her angst.) She thinks like a normal person, rants a bit, but the story flows like a person thinking, not a grand epic, as epic as the story actually is.

She also has the gift of getting away with the cheesy, as with her own object of fandom, Jane Austen. There are so many things that Edward says to Bella, that Darcy says to Lizzie, that in everyday speak would be ridiculous, but the love between the characters outshines that and makes it not so cheesy or a cheesy we can accept. Reading the first book of Breaking Dawn, I felt the whole thing ridiculous, but I was addicted and reread several chapters several times.

Other reasons to love Steph: she writes DAMN good kisses.

And... no... I'm not in love with Edward again... *blushes*

Well, I mean...

oh the irony.

not quite done reading Breaking Dawn, but it's quickly becomeing one of my favorite books.

Donna and I are dressed and ready for the party. OMG, I’m actually really getting excited. I’m pushing RPattz out of my head and trying to remember my first Edward, the boy I had in my head, the boy I once loved. I have to be ready to read this book.

Oh, crap! I have to stop by the hospital so Mom can see my costume!!! I’m a Volturi. I eat you!!! *nomnomnom*

Will avoid the internet for the next several days.

Mom’s back in the hospital, but still bright and smiley as ever. She’s so brave. Don't worry too much, guys -- they're just keeping her for a couple nights to see how stable she is. Anya, our favorite nurse, is keeping an eye on her as I type.

Funny thing about Ma, she and Donna have a conspiracy about finding my Edward Cullen. Insists I must get married early enough so that she’s able to arrange my wedding. Unfortunately for her, marriage is very low on my to-do list. You never really know, though.

Mom’s a big Twilighter, too. So, today, I read her a few chapters of the original, and she mumbled something in her half-sleep. It was all doomsday and Confucius-sounding, but it made me ponder life. She said that I hate Edward because I want him. Really?

I hate the drive from the hospital to home. Must make new music mix para my car.

Meh, this hospital stuff puts a bit of a damper on Breaking Dawn.

It's his birthday!!! Our favorite Herbology Professor... At least, I believe that's what he's doing now. It's been eleven years since the last battle with Voldemort.

I know, wrong fandom, what with Breaking Dawn being so FRIGGIN close. My palms are sweaty, I'm ready to trample some teeny-boppers to get my book. This is going to be intense!!!

Hahaha, not really. I'm just kidding. But Donna and I are gearing up for the midnight party. Chase and I were talking about it earlier at the 'Bean during his break.

what happens when i sorta like a song

  • Jul. 27th, 2008 at 8:49 PM

I probably shouldn't say this
But I'm over being scared
Of the rabid mass of fangirls
Who'd love to burn my hair

But the truth is that we all know
Dear Edward Cullen ain't what he seems
And at this impasse
I must relent that Edward dear is just queer

The seven things I hate about Ed
He's vain, plays games, ex-murderer
Wants to eat Bella, but he can't
Makes Emmett laugh, but he made Bella cry
I don't know which side to buy
No friends, loner
When he disappears, we know it hurts
Just 'cause he's hott, what do I know
And the other thing I hate the most that you do
You make me love you

It's awkward and it's silent
As I wait for you to say
"What the heck, don't you hate him?!"
Your sincerly corret, I'll say
But I mean it, please believe it
Let me say it, don't forget
Let's be clear

frick of nature... I don't even know anymore...

*runs away*

aka... i got tired of listening to miley's song repeatedly in order to spoof it....
